How It All Started

In May 2026, I decided to purchase a gasoline-powered jet surfboard from BluePenguin, a manufacturer based in China that sells through PenguinBoardSports.com.

I purchased their 2026 110cc EFI model for a quoted total of $4,000, including delivery to Connecticut.

I've been working on engines and mechanical equipment for years, so I knew that a high-performance, two-stroke jet surfboard would require maintenance. I wasn't expecting perfection, and I was completely comfortable handling minor repairs and troubleshooting.

After nearly two months of waiting, the surfboard finally arrived on July 29, 2026.

Initially, we were excited. The board was fun to ride, and I was looking forward to enjoying it throughout the rest of the summer.

Unfortunately, after approximately three hours of use, we started running into serious problems.

The engine began struggling and stalling whenever the cover was closed. While troubleshooting this issue, I discovered that the fuel tank was leaking gasoline.

Not long afterward, the electric starter motor stopped working, leaving the surfboard unusable.

I spent hours investigating the problems, checking sensors, inspecting components, and sending photos and videos to BluePenguin.

To their credit, the seller initially acknowledged the issues and promised replacement parts.

However, obtaining those parts became an entirely different problem.

Despite being told the replacements had shipped, I never received a usable tracking number, and as of October 15, 2026, the replacement starter motor still hadn't arrived.

I even offered to pay for expedited shipping and eventually offered $200 just to get another starter motor.

At that point, the frustration wasn't simply about a defective component. It was about purchasing an expensive product and being unable to obtain the support and parts needed to use it.

That's why I created this website.

BluePenguin, BPS WaterSports, Surfwiz, and LQE Technology: What's the Connection?

While researching BluePenguin after my purchase, I discovered that the company appears to operate within a larger network of closely connected brands, websites, and supplier identities.

If you're researching a jet surfboard from BluePenguin, BPS WaterSports, or Surfwiz, it's worth understanding these connections before purchasing.

Related Companies, Brands, and Websites

1. BluePenguin / Penguin Board Sports

  • Website: https://penguinboardsports.com

  • Company name listed: Chongqing Blue Penguin Technology Co., Ltd.

  • Location: Chongqing, China

  • Products: Gas-powered jet surfboards, electric surfboards, hydrofoils, and replacement parts.

This is the website where I purchased my 2026 BluePenguin 110cc EFI jet surfboard and the company involved in my documented customer-service experience.

2. BPS WaterSports

  • Website: https://bluepenguinsport.com

  • Company name listed: BPS Watersports Technology Co., Ltd.

  • Location: Chongqing, China

  • Products: BPS 110R jet surfboards, electric jetboards, and other powered watercraft.

Interestingly, BPS WaterSports lists the same building address as Penguin Board Sports:

Building C3, No. 98, Gangcheng East Road, Jiangbei District, Chongqing, China.

The websites also describe substantially the same company history and sell extremely similar products. For example, their 110cc EFI jet surfboards share numerous advertised technical specifications.

However, BPS lists different sales contacts, and I have not independently verified whether the two businesses are owned by the same legal entity, operated as sister companies, or connected through a manufacturing or distribution agreement.

3. Surfwiz / SurfWiz

  • Brand name: Surfwiz Powered Surfboards

  • Associated with: BluePenguin and Chongqing Lanqie Technology.

Surfwiz is another name connected to the same powered-surfboard business ecosystem. BluePenguin has publicly described Surfwiz as one of its trademarks.

Independent Shanghai International Boat Show materials have also identified Chongqing Lanqie Technology as an exhibitor of Surfwiz powered surfboards.

4. Chongqing Lanqie Technology / LQE Technology

  • Chinese company name: 重庆兰企鹅科技有限公司

  • English names appearing in business listings: Chongqing Lanqie Technology Co., Ltd. and Chongqing LQE Technology Co., Ltd.

  • Associated wholesale website: https://powerjetsurfboard.com

  • Location: Chongqing, China.

This connection is particularly interesting because Chinese business-information listings associate Chongqing LQE Technology directly with penguinboardsports.com.

The Lanqie wholesale listings also use the same BluePenguin sales email and phone number published by the main Penguin Board Sports storefront.

This provides stronger evidence of a direct commercial connection than simply selling similar products. However, the precise legal relationship between the various English company names has not been fully established.

Why This Matters to Potential Buyers

These websites and names appear to be part of a closely connected powered-surfboard manufacturing and sales ecosystem.

If you're considering purchasing from any of these websites, I recommend confirming who actually manufactures the product, which legal company processes the payment, who provides warranty support, and where replacement parts will come from.

My own experience demonstrated just how important replacement-parts availability and after-sales support can be when purchasing a specialized jet surfboard from overseas.
